I'm building a PC soon and I'm debating whether to go for 32GB of RAM or spend a little extra for 64GB. I'm looking for opinions on if 64GB is overkill just for gaming, or if it would be beneficial for productivity tasks in the future. What do you all think?

In my experience, 64GB is definitely overkill for gaming alone. But if you're into multitasking, or have tons of browser tabs open, it can be a savior. For hardcore tasks like video editing or running a server, that's where the extra RAM really shines!
For sure! Just be conscious of your needs. Most games won't max out more than 32GB anyway.
It really depends on what you mean by "productivity". For gaming alone, 32GB is usually more than enough. However, if you're doing more intensive tasks like video editing or running virtual machines, then 64GB can be very useful. If you can swing the cost, it's hard to regret going for more RAM, especially if you multitask heavily while gaming.
That's true! I've heard from people who run intensive applications alongside gaming that they appreciate having the extra RAM. It's nice for future-proofing too.
Yeah, especially with how demanding some new games are getting. It's definitely worth considering if you'll be using it for more than just casual gaming.
Honestly, if you can afford it, go for the 64GB. But don't stretch your budget too much just for RAM. It's often better to invest in a good quality 32GB kit and save some cash for other components like GPU or CPU, which might give you better performance. RAM speed is important too!
That's a solid point! Sometimes people focus too much on quantity instead of the quality of parts.
Exactly! Getting a solid 32GB kit might be more beneficial for performance overall.
For most users, 32GB is totally fine. 64GB might feel like overkill unless you're doing something really RAM-hungry like 3D modeling or heavy video rendering. But, if your budget allows, why not? It won’t hurt to have it in the long run!
Exactly! If you plan to run a lot of applications at once, having more RAM helps a lot. It’s all about how you use your PC.
True! But for standard gaming, I think 32GB is still the sweet spot.

Yeah, and if you aim to have a multi-monitor setup with high-demand games or applications, 64GB might be more beneficial than you think.
