How can I completely uninstall Microsoft Office 2013?

I'm trying to help a friend uninstall Microsoft Office 2013 from their computer so we can upgrade to a newer version. Unfortunately, every method I've tried hasn't worked. I've used the default uninstaller, but I just get an error message. I've even deleted the Microsoft Office folders from Program Files, but the program remains after rebooting. I also attempted using Revo Uninstaller, but Office still won't budge. Does anyone know a foolproof way to completely remove it so I can install the latest version?

Just a heads up, I've heard you can install a newer version of Office alongside the old one by changing the installation folder (like naming it Office 2021). It might be a quick workaround if you're in a pinch.

From what I experienced, using Revo for a long time can eventually help. I had my PC frozen, and it took a few hours, but it finally deleted all Office 13 files. Sometimes patience and letting it run do the trick!

If nothing works, make sure to check if there are any hidden files or processes in Task Manager related to Office. Sometimes, Windows can keep processes in memory that block uninstallation. Just a thought!

Ever thought about using the Support and Recovery Assistant tool? It might help you remove any leftover bits of Office 2013. Plus, there’s a chance that if there are any remnants left in the Registry, it could prevent a new version from being installed. Make sure to check that out! I’ll definitely check that out, thanks! I'll let you know if it works.

You might want to try the uninstall troubleshooter provided by Microsoft. It’s specifically designed to help with stubborn Office installations. Make sure you give that a shot to see if it can clean up the remnants of Office 2013 for you.
