Looking for Advice on My New Gaming PC Build with £2k Budget

Hey everyone! I'm building a new gaming PC and I've decided to stretch my budget a bit to get something more powerful. The plan is to gift my current rig to my partner, who could really use an upgrade from 1080p. Here are the details:

- **Use Case:** Primarily for 1440p gaming (like Helldivers 2 and Darktide), some strategy games, recording gameplay, light photo and video editing, and possibly streaming.
- **Existing Parts:** I'll be reusing my OS, M.2 storage, and peripherals (keyboard, mouse).
- **Budget:** I'm aiming for around £2k to £2.3k.
- **Location:** I'm based in the UK.

I'm currently considering a build I found online, but I'm weighing the option of switching to a 9900x for better multitasking and maybe saving some cash. I'm also debating whether to go for a 1000w power supply for future-proofing or if an 850w would suffice. Any suggestions on potential improvements or alternatives would be awesome! Also, should I just pull the trigger now or wait for Black Friday deals?

I see you’ve already got the M.2 drives, so no need to worry about storage replacements! Just a heads up, your current build is slightly over your £2.3k budget due to fluctuating prices. I swapped those QLC SSDs for a single TLC SSD, which will last longer. Plus, I replaced your GPU with a 5070 Ti for overall better performance and cut down on your power supply to something more fitting. Here’s the adjusted build I came up with: [PCPartPicker List](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vcNkQd). Trust me, this will keep you on budget and give you a great setup!

Thanks for the detailed response here mate, lots of great suggestions. Just to clarify re the build I linked - this includes 2 M.2 drives which I already own & plan to reuse from my existing build but I'm open to swapping one of them out for a 4TB as more memory is never a bad thing!

Are you sure you need that OLED monitor? You could swap it out and get a better GPU like the 5080. I suggest switching your CPU to the 7800x3d; it's a solid choice for gaming and often cheaper than the 9800x3d. It depends on how many cores you really need for your uses! You can check out the build I created here: [PCPartPicker List](https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/6pMGZc).

It's a fair shout and not needed, more of a nice-to-have... I currently have a LG - UltraGear 27GP850-B, but I was planning on giving that to my missus. Thanks for the input again!
