Why isn’t my PayPal OTP coming through while I’m traveling?

Hey everyone! I'm having a frustrating issue trying to log into my PayPal account while abroad because the OTP (One Time Password) just isn't arriving. I've tried all the usual fixes like toggling SIM roaming, using a VPN from various regions, switching devices, and even waiting up to 48 hours, but nothing seems to work. It's really frustrating feeling locked out of my own account even though I know my password. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips or reliable fixes would be super appreciated!

I tried switching between devices and different networks too, and still no luck with PayPal sending the OTP. I'm curious if anyone else abroad ran into this—did roaming or a VPN actually help you get your OTP?

Just a heads up, I think it might be a regional issue. Since I'm traveling, I'm starting to think that PayPal might not send OTPs to certain locations. Anyone else experiencing this?

I heard that the bulk SMS service PayPal uses might not be set up for sending international messages very well. So, the OTPs might be getting dropped by the roaming provider due to cost issues.

That actually makes a lot of sense! I was wondering if something like that was affecting the situation. It's frustrating that PayPal doesn't clarify this, it could save a lot of time for people.

Have you considered using Wi-Fi calling while connecting to a Wi-Fi network? If you switch your phone to airplane mode first, it might make it seem like you're back home and the OTP could come through.

That's a smart trick, I hadn’t thought of using Wi-Fi calling with airplane mode. I’ll definitely give that a try—thanks for sharing!
