I'm looking to upgrade my old PC and wanted to know if moving from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 5 5600 is a smart choice. I'm also planning to add 16GB of RAM with two 8GB sticks at 3200MHz. Here's my current setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
- GPU: RX 580
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime B550M-K
- RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) HyperX Fury DDR4 CL16
- Storage: 128GB SSD + 500GB HDD
- PSU: Cooler Master MWE V3 Bronze 650W (ATX 3.1)
- Case: InPlay Seaview S100 Micro ATX
- Monitor: Xiaomi Redmi 34" Curved Gaming Monitor, 3440x1440, 180Hz, FreeSync

I'd love any additional suggestions you might have!

Upgrading to that CPU is a good investment for around $120. However, with your monitor resolution, you might want to keep an eye on your GPU – that RX 580 might hold you back. Also, that small SSD capacity is a concern; games can fill it up quick, and load times are way faster on an SSD compared to HDDs!

Got it! I’m looking for a GPU upgrade in the future as well, and I’ll definitely get a new SSD or M.2.

Definitely a solid upgrade! If you can also grab a 1TB SSD and maybe a new GPU down the line, you'll really boost your gaming performance. The Ryzen 5600 is a great choice for your rig!

Thanks a lot! Do you have any suggestions for a GPU?

Moving to the 5600 will give you a noticeable performance boost. If you find a good deal, consider the 5700X or 5700X3D too. Just a heads-up, though – I wouldn't recommend mixing RAM sticks unless you're sure they work well together. Also, prices for DDR4 RAM have gone up, so think carefully before buying more! Fresh install of Windows after the upgrade is a must for the best performance.

I have Kingston Fury Beast 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 sticks now. Should I just stick with those or buy more?
