I'm really eager to switch to Linux, but I don't have a flash drive or USB stick available. I tried searching online, but I'm not too confident about risking it without some solid advice. Can anyone help me understand if it's possible to install Linux just using my PC?

Honestly, it's best to save up for a flash drive — they're usually super cheap, and using one makes the whole process a lot easier. Trying to go without it might end up being a headache for you.
You could also try borrowing one from a friend; even an old 8GB drive would do the trick!
There are other ways if you have access to a DVD burner; you could burn the installation image onto a DVD instead of needing a USB. Just keep in mind that you'll need empty discs for that.
I've never tried migrating without a USB, and honestly, it sounds tricky. I think you’d have to create a new partition on your SSD and use that to boot the installer, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're comfortable with partitioning.
You could try making an ISO partition on your hard drive, but it’s risky and could end up making a lot of your drive space unusable. A USB stick is definitely the safer bet!
While it might be technically feasible to install Linux without external media, it's a complicated process that might not be worth it unless you're experienced. My advice? Definitely grab a USB or find another external option.
Totally agree! A flash drive would make the install smoother, plus backing up your stuff first could save you from potential data loss during the transition.
