Hey everyone! My PC is going on 9 years old, and while I did upgrade to a 4TB SSD recently, I haven't touched anything else. It's been working fine for me, but now that Windows 11 is out, my CPU isn't compatible. I'm really not great with hardware, so I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading parts or if I should just buy a brand new PC altogether. Here's what I've got:
**Operating System:** Windows 10 Home 64-bit
**CPU:** Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz
**RAM:** 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1199MHz
**Motherboard:** MSI Z170A PC MATE
**GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
**Storage:** 4TB EDILOCA SSD, 2TB Toshiba HDD, 223GB SanDisk SSD
Any advice on what to keep or whether to go for a new build would be super helpful! Thanks!

Honestly, you'll likely need to replace quite a bit if you choose to upgrade. Your motherboard, CPU, GPU, and power supply would all need to be swapped out. If you're looking for something budget-friendly, you might find some decent used AM4 systems. But if you're willing to invest a bit more, I'd recommend going for AM5 instead. It's a solid choice!
Check out this build I put together as a possible AM5 setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zrGBdb. I didn't add a case, and you can skip the NVMe drive if you want. Make sure to research how these components perform in the games you play. If your budget allows, an AMD x3d chip would be awesome too!
