I keep running into this annoying 'security delay' message on my iPhone 15 Pro whenever I try to adjust certain settings, like enabling Face ID while wearing a mask. This happens even though I'm at home, where my phone spends most of its time. It's frustrating to be locked out of changing settings due to the 'stolen device protection' when all I want is to tweak my phone. I don't want to turn off this security feature completely, but I'm getting close to that point. I'm currently on iOS 18.2.1 and would appreciate any help!

Maybe give the update to 18.6.2 a shot? Some updates actually have bug fixes that could help with this issue.
Make sure you’ve set up your Significant Locations and have Location Services turned on. This could be a case of a user error rather than a fault in the device protection. Check your settings again!
Have you tried updating your phone? You’re running on an older version, which might be causing some glitches. Keep it up to date for a better experience!
Unfortunately, it seems like there's nothing you can do about this. I've faced the same issue right at home where my place is suddenly considered an ‘unfamiliar location’ by Apple’s system. It’s just frustrating how Apple handles their software, honestly.
Yeah, I get the idea behind stolen device protection, but it causes a ton of headaches. Especially when Face ID is disabled; it makes resetting your device impossible. And it’s silly that if someone has your passcode, they can reset the phone and bypass the activation lock. Kind of defeats the whole purpose, right?

But is there a specific fix for this? I’m not really keen on updating if it isn't necessary, especially with how Apple tends to push their features.
