I'm in the market for a new graphics card and have a budget of about $300. The RTX 5060 and the 9060 XT 8GB are both contenders in that price range. I'm primarily looking to game at 1080p, so I'm hoping to get some advice on which card would be the better choice. Please don't tell me to save for a 16GB card since that's out of my budget right now!

If both are priced the same, I’d go with the RTX 5060. If you find one cheaper, definitely grab that instead. They perform pretty similarly, but Nvidia typically offers better software support and features like their upscaler and frame generation stuff.
I'd say the 9060 XT is a no-brainer if the price is the same, but don’t overlook the value of saving a little more for a 16GB card. It’ll give you way better longevity down the line.
Honestly, if you could get another $70 together for the 9060 XT 16GB, it’d be worth it. Both the 8GB cards are a bit lacking these days, so investing a little more now could really pay off later.
