I'm trying to install a new distro plate in my case, but it's blocking access to the SATA ports on my AORUS x570 PRO WiFi motherboard. I'm considering using a PCIe x1 SATA card to get around this issue. However, both of my x16 slots are currently occupied by GPUs, which means I'd need to use a riser to fit the card. Will this setup work? Are there any potential downsides I should be aware of?

It really depends on your motherboard configuration. Typically, x1 slots can run alongside x16 slots without causing bandwidth issues since they operate off the chipset. So in most cases, yes, you should be fine using that x1 SATA card with your GPUs installed. Just check your motherboard manual for specifics to make sure!
Thanks! The spec page was a bit confusing, but I see now that it mentions "2 x PCI Express x1 slots" under the chipset. That’s helpful!
