What should I do after my laptop got wet in the rain?

I'm not really tech-savvy, so I hope I'm explaining this right. I was out and it started pouring rain. I tried to keep my backpack dry by using my raincoat, but some water still got through and dripped onto my laptop. Once I got home, I quickly removed the battery and left my laptop to air-dry for a few hours. It still powers on and appears to be okay, but I'm wondering if I should wait longer or check anything else?

Water can cause issues mainly because of the impurities it carries, which can make the circuitry conductive and potentially lead to shorts. If you want to be thorough, using pure isopropyl alcohol can help clean any residual moisture, but be careful with plastic parts—alcohol can stain them. If you're unsure about handling it, it might be best to take it to a repair shop for a professional check.

From what you've described, it sounds like your laptop might be okay! Since it's still functioning, you can go ahead and use it. If you're feeling a bit overcautious, you could take the back off to check if any water got in, but that might be unnecessary if everything seems fine.
