Is My CPU Temperature Normal While Downloading Games?

I just finished building my new computer, and I've noticed that while I'm downloading games from Steam, the temperature of my Ryzen 9 9900X3D hits the 80s. I'm using an NZXT Kraken 360mm cooler. Is this kind of temperature normal during game downloads?

Absolutely normal! Steam does more than just download; it does some processing too. So when that's going on, especially with a heavy CPU like yours, it's expected to see those temperatures rise.

You're all good! I have an all AMD setup, and the same happens to me when I download games. During that time, the temps tend to spike, but it calms down once the download is finished. You're fine!

Thanks, that helps!

Yep, that's pretty normal! When you're downloading games, especially from Steam, your CPU can work hard not just to download, but also to extract and update files, which can spike the temps a bit. Don't stress too much about it!
