Should I Build My PC Now or Wait for the New Intel CPUs?

I'm planning to build a PC around May or June specifically for YouTube editing and gaming. My planned setup includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, a B860-A ROG Strix motherboard, and an RTX 5070 Ti. I just received some pricey RAM that I imported since there's none available locally, but I can't test it until I get the other parts. However, I've come across news that Intel may not support their current socket in the future, which means if I build now, I might be stuck without an upgrade path for the 265K. I'm torn between wanting to build sooner to check my RAM and waiting for the new Intel CPUs. Any advice?

Have you considered why you're leaning towards Intel instead of AMD? Some people have switched to AMD for better price-to-performance ratios, especially in gaming. But if you're focused on video editing and need that quick sync feature, Intel can be a solid choice.

I mainly chose Intel for productivity tasks. I do a lot of editing for my YouTube channel, and I've heard that Intel’s quick sync is quite helpful for video editing. Plus, some users have reported issues with AMD when it comes to streaming.

Honestly, with the recent news about Intel's layoffs, it might be worth holding off for now. They could take some time to regroup and ensure their upcoming products are stable and perform well. Waiting might give you a better idea if the new generation is a worthwhile upgrade.
