Hey everyone! I'm currently on the job hunt but I'm having a tough time breaking into the field as a beginner. I've got some Kubernetes projects on my GitHub, but without much industry experience, I'm not sure how to improve my chances of getting hired. If anyone more experienced could take a look at my work and give me honest feedback on what I should enhance or what might be good to go, I'd really appreciate it. By the way, here's my latest project: [gitea-kubernetes-terraform](https://github.com/glitcher255/gitea-kubernetes-terraform). I've been advised to start with sysadmin roles, but it seems really saturated and hard to get into. Thanks for any insights!

If your GitHub projects are your best work so far and you lack professional experience, you might find it challenging in the current job market. Consider looking for entry-level developer positions if you have some programming experience. These roles can provide a foot in the door. But remember, IT is competitive now, especially with layoffs happening, so don't get discouraged. Keep learning and refining your skills; that dedication can make a difference!

Getting a job straight away in the cloud or sysadmin fields can be tough without proven experience. It’s fantastic that you’re working on personal projects to build a portfolio; don’t stop that! However, to really break into the industry, consider starting at a service desk or managed service position. It might seem basic, but that experience is invaluable and will help you move up in the long run. Regarding your GitHub repo, be sure to modularize your code and manage branches effectively to show off your programming skills, which can be crucial for job applications. Consider certifications in Azure or Terraform as well to boost your profile.

Totally agree with the previous points. A lot of successful IT professionals began their careers in service desk roles, even if they moved on to specialized positions later. You gain essential knowledge about systems and networking that are vital for any DevOps role. Keep pushing yourself, and don’t hesitate to seek out job opportunities that align with your skill level.
