Hey everyone! I just got all the parts for my new PC, and they should all be here by Saturday, except for the GPU, which will arrive a week later. I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to go ahead and build the PC without the GPU, so I can set up Windows, install drivers, and any programs I want in the meantime. My CPU has integrated graphics, and my motherboard has a DisplayPort, so I can still do everything without the GPU. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Just a heads-up, once you install your GPU, remember to connect your monitor to it instead of the motherboard!
For sure, it’s totally fine to set everything up now and add the GPU later. If your CPU is relatively new, you might even be able to play some lighter games while you wait, like Silksong or other casual esports titles!
I actually played World of Tanks on an i7 8700 for a month while fixing my GPU, and it worked fine!
Now’s the perfect time to get everything set up and ensure everything’s working, so you’re ready when the GPU arrives! You can even start downloading some games in the meantime.
Yes, you can! Just to add, I personally disable integrated graphics to keep my CPU temperatures down, so consider that when you get your GPU. And remember to plug in your DisplayPort or HDMI into the GPU and not back to the motherboard, lol!
If your CPU has integrated graphics, then you're all good to go! You can definitely start building your PC without the GPU and wait for it to come in later.
Oh, absolutely! That's definitely the first thing I'll do after putting in the GPU and closing up the case.
