Should I Stay in My Junior Dev Role or Look for Something Better?

Hey everyone! I've been in my junior developer role for about two months now, and I'm feeling pretty confused about what to do next. When I finish a task, it often takes a long time (like two weeks) before I get a new one assigned, and when I do, the explanation is usually vague and not very helpful. We also don't have a system for managing tasks or scheduling meetings, which makes communication pretty tough. Sometimes, it feels like the team thinks I won't be able to handle certain technologies or projects, which is discouraging. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking things and this is just how it is in the industry, or if I should actively start looking for other entry-level positions. Would appreciate any advice! 🙂

I think you should look for another job if you’re feeling this way. It seems inefficient on the company's part not to provide better task management and communication. Have you asked your manager for more work or expressed that you're ready for more? If not, doing that could help you out!

Good point! But I think the issue is more about their lack of organization. I’ve brought it up, but there doesn't seem to be much change. It feels like I’m just waiting around too often.

Honestly, it sounds like you're accumulating valuable experience while you search for a better opportunity. Jobs can be tough to find, so hang in there and use this time to learn as much as you can. If you decide to leave, just remember to suggest me for your position! Good luck!

It's a bit unusual to hear someone say they have too little to do! But remember, in every job, there are loads of people working too hard. Take this as a chance to improve your skills on your own. If you feel bored often, just make sure you’re still learning something—make the most of it!
