Am I Being Paid Fairly for My IT Role?

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm really unsure about whether I'm being compensated fairly in my current job. I'm in my mid-30s and have been working in IT for about eight months now, based in Switzerland. I'm currently earning CHF 100k. I recently switched fields to IT and have only worked at one company, which isn't particularly known for paying top dollar but isn't terrible either. I've received raises in the past but hit a salary cap of 100k after around eight years in a different role as a SysAdmin. Now, I'm part of the System Engineering and Operations team, where we handle multiple Kubernetes clusters across different cloud providers and other customer environments. It's been a big learning curve, but I feel like I'm starting to find my footing. That said, I'm concerned about my workload and whether my salary reflects my responsibilities, especially since I'm still considered a junior. I'm curious if I should consider asking for a raise or if my salary seems fair based on what you've seen in similar positions.

From what I know, CHF 100k is roughly equivalent to about $125k USD, which seems decent for an operations role, especially with opportunities for growth. However, since you're handling a significant workload and learning a lot in your new role, I can see why you might be questioning your pay. It sounds like you deserve to feel supported and compensated fairly for the effort you're putting in.

Thanks for your insight! Knowing it’s a decent salary is comforting, but I just want to make sure my work-life balance doesn't suffer too much.
