Hey everyone! I'm building my first desktop PC and have only ever used Windows XP, 7, and 10. With Windows 10 losing support and my discontent with 11, I'm planning to switch to Linux for this build. A friend mentioned a distribution he used to use, but he can only recall that it had a zebra in its logo. I would really appreciate your help in tracking it down! Also, I'm open to other suggestions for Linux distros—I'm considering something based on Debian since I've heard mixed reviews about Arch Linux.

Before we dive in, it’s important to know what you plan on doing with your system. Are you looking for something more hands-on or something simpler?

I haven't built my PC yet, but I'm aiming for an AMD setup recommended from another forum. I want a straightforward OS since I'll be using Steam, Discord, and gaming-related stuff. I also enjoy modding games and using tools like GIMP for D&D. My previous experience includes Firefox and Chrome.
