Hey everyone! I'm currently playing Battlefield 6 on a Dell S3422DWG monitor at a resolution of 3440x1440. The beta performance was decent but not quite where I want it. I'm considering upgrading my GPU to hit over 144fps while sticking with my AM4/DDR4 setup. Do you think a GPU upgrade alone will be sufficient, or should I go all out and replace my entire build with an AM5/DDR5 system? Thanks a lot for your insights!

Your 5800X3D is still a solid CPU! I’d only swap out the GPU. For 4K, it’s really going to come down to the GPU power. Consider options like the RTX 5070 Ti or 5080.
With your current 5800X3D at 4K, you can pick any GPU that fits your budget, even something like the 5090. 4K gaming will be more challenging for the GPU than the CPU, so I think you'll be good with just the GPU.
Honestly, I would check out benchmarks for games similar to BF6 to see how well they run on AM4/DD4 setups. My guess is that a GPU upgrade should suffice. Maybe get the GPU first and test it out; if it doesn't work well enough, you can always return it and consider going AM5 later.
