I'm looking to build a system with an AM5 motherboard and need to know if I can use a full-speed PCIe 4.0 16x slot along with M.2 Gen 5 4x slots simultaneously. I also require a PCIe 3.0 4x slot for a 10GbE card, and it would be great to have an extra 1-2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 4x slots as well. The main concern is maintaining the full 16x speed on the PCIe without dropping the lanes to 8x. Does anyone have insights or suggestions on boards that support these configurations?

You can find a few AM5 boards that support two Gen 5 M.2 slots. I recommend checking out boards on Newegg that fit your criteria. For example, the MSI B850 Tomahawk Max has a lot of potential, but you'll need to keep an eye on the lane sharing. It has one x4 slot that shares lanes with an M.2, while other M.2 slots operate independently. Just make sure to check the documentation thoroughly!

Yeah, documentation is key! Sometimes they don’t detail how lanes are shared very clearly, so good luck!
