Why am I getting lower FPS than my friend with a 5080 RTX?

I recently built a new system featuring a 9950X3D processor and a 5080 RTX Founders Edition GPU, along with 64GB of RAM. However, I'm noticing that my friend, who has a 4070 SUPER paired with a 7800X3D, is achieving significantly higher FPS—around 50-70 more—while playing Call of Duty: Warzone. We're using very similar settings at 1440p. I've updated my drivers from NVIDIA, which gave me a slight FPS boost, but it still doesn't compare to what my friend is getting. I'm curious if this difference is because my 5080 RTX is better suited for 4K gaming and thus not being fully utilized, or if there is something else I should check out.

It’s possible EXPO isn’t enabled, which would be a simple fix for a pretty noticeable improvement. Also, ensure your memory is clocked correctly and check if any unusual power limits are set in the BIOS.

First off, have you checked the speed of your RAM? If you’ve got it running at 4800 MT/s with no overclocking, it might be worth enabling EXPO in the BIOS. It can significantly boost performance if set correctly!

Haha, right? It's a common oversight! I hope he checks it out.

Yeah, I wasn't even sure what EXPO was at first. Gonna see if I can enable that!

By the way, what’s the refresh rate on your monitor? It could be limiting your FPS, too. Just something to consider!

There are tons of variables at play here. Are you and your friend playing at the same settings and resolution? Even small differences can lead to major changes in FPS. Also, don't forget to check your background programs and make sure you’re both in similar situations/games while testing the FPS.

We’ve both been on the same map and settings, but I’ll double-check everything to be sure.

Good call—background processes can eat up some power, unfairly cutting into performance!
