My Laptop Crashed and I Need Help Recovering My Files

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a panic here. My Acer Predator Helios 300 has completely frozen and crashed on startup. After trying to restart it, it just hangs on the Predator logo. I've been using this laptop for about four years, and it means a lot to me, especially since I'm applying for my master's degree. Most of my important documents, including Unity projects for my game development portfolio, are saved on this machine. I've even done a health check on the SSD, and it seems okay, but I think a recent power surge caused the issue. Not to mention, I'm really stressed out since my deadline is coming up on September 15. Is there a way to recover my files, and is there hope for fixing my laptop? I'm really worried about my Unity projects. Thanks for any guidance!

First off, try to access the BIOS. Check if your disk is showing up in the bootloader. If it isn't, see if the disk is bitlocked. If it's not, you can connect the SSD to another computer to back up your files. That way, you can save everything you need. If you can't even get into BIOS and the disk is bitlocked, head over to Microsoft's recovery key page to retrieve your BitLocker recovery key. Once you have that, plug the SSD into another machine to decrypt it and recover your files.

I understand how stress-filled this situation can be. It's crucial to get to the BIOS first, but if it's stuck, that’s concerning. If nothing seems to work, consider connecting your SSD to another laptop or desktop. If the SSD is alright, you should be able to access your files. If you can't get into the system, your best bet is to check if any professional data recovery services are available. They might be able to help if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.
