PC Won’t Display After CPU Upgrade—What Could Be Wrong?

Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my CPU from an i7-5675 to an i7-4770, and now I'm facing a problem where my monitor isn't getting any display. The fans on my GPU spin briefly before stopping, then they restart again, but I'm not seeing any lights on my keyboard or mouse. I've tried upgrading the BIOS and double-checked all the cables and RAM, but still no luck. Any ideas on what could be going wrong? Thanks!

It sounds like there might be a compatibility issue between the new CPU and your motherboard. Make sure that the MSI H97 GAMING 3 supports the i7-4770. Sometimes a BIOS update is necessary for support of newer CPUs. Also, ensure that your CPU is seated properly in the socket and that you're using the right power connectors.

I had a similar issue when I switched CPUs. It helped to reseat the RAM, too! Sometimes that gets loose when you're working around the motherboard.
