I'm not very familiar with Mac systems since I usually work with Windows. We recently hired someone who never started, and now there's a concern about their MacBook Pro. I'm wondering if this computer can be bricked through Mosyle if the user tries to manipulate it in any way, like swapping the drive. I've seen similar issues arise with devices enrolled in Intune, and I'm curious if Mosyle has similar controls in place. Is there a way to prevent the user from using the Mac at all, such as running a script that would make it unusable?

Is Mosyle similar to Jamf for managing devices? I'm not too familiar with its specific capabilities.
Yes, if your MacBook Pro is enrolled through Apple's Device Enrollment Program (DEP) or Automated Device Enrollment (ABM), it can definitely be bricked. Mosyle allows you to lock devices based on their enrollment status, so tampering could lead to it being unusable even if the drive is swapped.
Did you check with your vendor? They might have insights on this kind of situation.
We actually buy directly from Apple, so I might need to find the right contact to ask.

That makes sense, especially since Apple ships them in that state to ensure management continuity.
