Help! My PC Keeps Freezing After Upgrading—What Can I Do?

Hey everyone, I'm on the verge of losing my mind with my newly upgraded PC build. I moved from an MSI Z97 Gaming 5 with an i7-4790K and GTX 1080 to a Ryzen 7800X3D, a B850 Tomahawk motherboard, and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM (which is overclocked). I'm still using the old GPU since I plan to upgrade that in a few months.

Despite following a BIOS setting video, my PC has been freezing randomly, whether I'm playing Valorant, trying to shut down, or during restart screens. This happens about once or twice a day, and the only fix is a hard reset. I'm relatively new to building PCs and have looked for help online, but I'm still stuck.

I've checked event logs and found some errors related to kernel-power and TPM, thought those may just be from the resets, but I'm not sure.

Here's everything I've attempted so far: cleared the fTPM in BIOS, disabled Windows fast startup, uninstalled and reinstalled the TPM driver, updated all critical drivers, verified SSD health, tested RAM with Memtest86, and ran system file repairs. Even after all these steps, the freezing persists. Any thoughts on what else might be causing this?

From what you've described, it could be a RAM issue. If you're using XMP settings, it might not be stable. Disabling XMP could help you avoid random freezes. If your overclocking is manual, that might also need tweaking for stability. Since you mentioned you ran Memtest86 and didn't find any errors, it might be a configuration issue rather than the sticks themselves.

I did run Memtest86 too and detected no errors, which is confusing.

Was your Windows installation clean? If not, issues might arise from leftover settings or drivers from your previous setup.

Yes, I did a clean install of Windows 11 after removing Windows 10.

Have you upgraded your PSU alongside all the other upgrades? A powerful build needs a reliable PSU. If yours is old or underpowered, it could be the culprit here.

I'm using a Thermaltake Smart 750W 80 Plus, and I didn't have issues before the upgrade, but I'm planning to get a new one soon.
