I've been using an i7-11700K with a GeForce RTX 3080 for gaming, but I'm running into some lag with certain games on Steam. The overlay indicates that my CPU usage is reaching 100%. I'm wondering if upgrading my CPU would help solve these issues, and if so, which CPU would be a good choice?

Are you gaming at 1080p? I'd like to know what you mean by "laggy" exactly. But it seems like upgrading might be a bit tricky since it would require switching out your motherboard, CPU, and RAM.
I run a Ryzen 5 5500 with a 3050 at 1080p high settings and I don’t have any lag or stuttering. Maybe something else is off with your setup.
