I'm currently running an i9 11900, an RTX 3060ti, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm considering an upgrade to an RTX 3080 for around $200. My PC is used for my girlfriend's CAD work (including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Lumion) as well as my own gaming at 2K resolution. I'm wondering if this upgrade is worth it, especially since I'm concerned about whether my 700W Gold power supply will be sufficient for the new card.

If you're looking for a performance boost, the RTX 3080 is definitely a worthy upgrade. You'll see better VRAM and bandwidth, plus improved clock speeds. Your 700W Gold PSU should handle it without issues, so I say go for it!
Two hundred bucks for a 50% performance boost isn’t a bad deal at all! If you and your girlfriend are finding your current setup adequate, you could hold off, but otherwise, it’s a solid upgrade for both gaming and CAD work!
Definitely, especially since video card prices are crazy high right now in my area. This feels like the right move!
