Hey folks! I just moved into student housing and I'm struggling with my WiFi connection. My phone connects just fine, but my computer either barely connects or drops out almost instantly. It seems like my computer can connect, but the connection is really unstable. I'm wondering if this might be an issue with the adapter or something else entirely. I could use any advice you have to help me get this sorted!

You might want to check if your school requires you to register your PC on their network. Sometimes devices aren’t allowed to connect unless they're approved, and if they detect an unregistered device, they might drop the connection.
Is your PC's WiFi antenna located at the back? That can make it hard to get a good signal. You could try using extension cables to position the antennas higher up, or you might want to get an external USB WiFi adapter. Also, try changing the orientation of your PC to see if that improves the signal. Positioning the antennas at 45-degree angles could help too!
First, check your WiFi signal on the computer – is it showing full bars or just one? If it's weak, you should update your network adapter’s driver. Also, if you're using a VPN, try turning it off to see if that helps connect. If these steps don’t work, consider reaching out to your school’s IT department; they might need to register your computer before connecting. Sometimes they block unrecognized devices.
