Hey folks! We're setting up a workshop for kids and teens, and we plan to have about 60 PCs available for them to use. Our goal is to configure one PC with all the necessary software and then clone it to set up the others easily. We need a program similar to DeepFreeze that will restore the PC to its original state after a restart. Additionally, we want the ability to switch to admin mode for making changes. Are there any free alternatives to DeepFreeze that can achieve this? I've heard of Reboot Restore RX, but I understand that I might have to uninstall it to make system changes. Any suggestions?

You might want to check out the Unified Write Filter from Microsoft. It’s designed for situations like yours, where you need to maintain a consistent state on devices. Here’s a link with more information: [Unified Write Filter](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/unified-write-filter/). This could work well for your PCs!
We use Reboot Restore Enterprise, and it functions similarly to Deep Freeze. The great thing is that you don't need to uninstall the program to make system changes, which sounds like it could fit your needs perfectly!
Thanks for clarifying that!
If you're open to using ChromeOS devices, that might be a good option for you. They tend to work well in educational settings and can simplify management without needing lots of Windows applications.
Thanks for the suggestion!
From my experience, Deep Freeze really is the best solution for setups like yours. It's incredibly reliable in maintaining system integrity after restarts. Just a thought!
I appreciate your insight!
