PC Overheats and Shuts Down While Gaming – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I recently built my own PC using an MSI Pro B650S Wi-Fi motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 7700x CPU, and an AMD 7600 graphics card. I'm still using my old Corsair CX750 power supply. The issue I'm facing is that the CPU temperature reaches about 56-60°C when I'm just browsing or using Discord, and things get worse while gaming. For instance, when I play HellDivers 2, my PC shuts down completely after about 15 minutes. Initially, the monitors go black, and then the whole system powers off a couple of seconds later. I've already tried replacing the thermal paste and made sure all cables are properly connected and receiving power. Any suggestions on what could be going wrong? Thanks!

What cooler are you using? It might help to make sure your CPU cooler is doing its job. If it has a cooler like an AIO, check for any signs of installation issues.

I’m using a Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R RGB. I’ll double-check the installation details.

Make sure you took off the plastic from the bottom of the AIO coldplate when you installed it. Also, check if it’s mounted properly on the CPU socket. If you have an old air cooler lying around, you could try that to see if it fixes the issue. It could help isolate whether the AIO is the problem.

I actually used this cooler on another motherboard without issues, so I'm pretty sure I mounted it right and removed any protective plastic. Unfortunately, I don't have an air cooler to test.

How old is your PSU? A four-year-old Corsair CX750 should generally be okay, but if it's been pushed hard, it could be starting to fail under load. Just something to consider.
