Is it worth it to run Dual 1080 Ti SLI for Valorant?

I've been holding onto my trusty 8700k paired with a 1080 Ti for eight years now. Recently, I came across another 1080 Ti for free, and I'm considering setting up SLI instead of upgrading to a new GPU, especially since prices are sky-high. I usually play Valorant at 1440p, but I've been struggling with frame rates. My main questions are: 1. What kind of power supply or cables would I need if I add the second 1080 Ti? My current PSU is a Corsair RM750. 2. Are there likely to be driver issues with SLI? I mostly play Valorant and League of Legends. Is SLI even beneficial for these games or should I just scrap this idea and look for a new build?

SLI support has dwindled significantly in recent years, especially for games like Valorant and League of Legends. You're unlikely to see any real performance gains, so it might not be worth the effort. Consider selling the spare 1080 Ti to boost your upgrade budget instead!

You might not have to say goodbye to your whole setup just yet! If you're getting rid of your build, consider using your current PC as an entertainment hub instead. You can set it up for media streaming or even as a server, which could give it new life without outright abandoning it. Plus, you could utilize that 1080 Ti for hardware decoding for streaming content!

Exactly! Turning it into a media server could be a fun project. The 1080 Ti can still handle most tasks well.

For sure! It's still a solid card for those purposes. You could even try out Linux for a different experience if you're interested!

Honestly, you're looking at a pretty bleak situation. SLI doesn't provide the support it used to for most major games, including the ones you're playing. It might be time to think about selling both cards and investing in a newer, more capable graphics card like an RTX 3070 Ti or RX 6800 for better performance. You’ll probably get a smoother experience overall.
