I recently updated my Ubuntu (version 24.04.3 LTS) and after the required restart, I've lost my Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and trackpad functionality. My laptop is a 2019 Razer Blade Stealth. I'm looking for suggestions to troubleshoot this and get everything working again!

Did you have Timeshift set up? It can be really helpful for rolling back to a previous state if things go wrong. If not, you still have access to your files on the system, and you could navigate with a graphic tablet while figuring out your next steps!

I didn’t use Timeshift, but I can still navigate using my tablet, which is surprisingly working in Wayland. Do you think a fresh install could solve my issues? If so, what should I back up on my external SSD?

If you're thinking of a fresh install, consider using BTRFS as your filesystem. It allows you to take snapshots before updates, making it easier to recover if something goes wrong!

Thanks for that suggestion! So, BTRFS is the way to go instead of Ext4? I just want to make sure I'm choosing the right filesystem for installation.

Have you tried rebooting a few times? Sometimes Wi-Fi issues can crop up after an update, but a couple of reboots might just fix it. I’ve had similar experiences where the Wi-Fi would come back after a few restarts.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I've rebooted around 20 times, trying both Wayland and Xorg, and even attempted to connect to the internet with my phone via USB. No luck so far.

Have you tried booting into the old kernel? Sometimes after updates, the latest kernel can have incompatibility issues with certain hardware. You can find the previous kernel option in the boot menu under 'advanced options.'
