Looking to Upgrade from a 7900GRE – Need NVIDIA Suggestions!

I've got a Radeon RX 7900GRE that I'm looking to sell for about $396.64 USD since I can't return it. The hardware itself is fine, but I've been having issues with indie games I love; a technician confirmed that while the GPU works, the software support isn't great. A recent update for the game Squad has made it unplayable for me, and I've experienced crashes in other games like Doom TDA, Indiana Jones TGC, and STALKER 2 because of this GPU. I'm worried that future games or updates might break what I can already play.

I'm trying to decide whether I should sidestep to another GPU or possibly downgrade or upgrade—ideally to an NVIDIA card. My build includes an AMD Ryzen 5 7600, 32 GB DDR5 RAM, and a 750W power supply. What NVIDIA GPU would you recommend that's compatible and doesn't require switching out other parts? If you think waiting it out is better, how long should I consider?

If you're looking for NVIDIA options around that budget, I'd suggest checking out the RTX 4060 Ti or maybe the 4070 if you can stretch it a bit. Both should perform well without needing any other upgrades in your build. Staying below $500 seems reasonable, and these cards have good support for indie games too.

You might want to reconsider the issues you're having with the Radeon. A lot of games, including Doom TDA, have worked well with AMD cards like the 7900XT. Make sure resize BAR is enabled and the latest drivers are installed. It could be worth troubleshooting further before jumping back to NVIDIA.

I'd recommend going for the 5060 Ti or the 4070 Super. These cards will definitely handle your gaming needs and should work well with your existing setup, especially with that 750W PSU you have. You shouldn't run into power issues with those.

I feel your pain with the Radeon card. It's more about finding the right NVIDIA card that matches your gaming preferences. But if you're really convinced that moving to NVIDIA is the better route, the 4070 or 4070 Ti could be solid choices since they tend to have broader support among developers.
