Is a 600W PSU Sufficient for a 9060XT and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out if my 600W power supply is enough to run my setup which includes a 9060XT graphics card and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. My PSU is about 5 years old, and I'm not sure of the model. Here's what I have:

- 2 x 932GB SSDs (CT1000MX 500SSD1)
- ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard
- Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE CPU Cooler

PC Part Picker estimates the total consumption to be around 400W. Do you think I should just go ahead and invest in a new PSU and possibly a 7800X3D? Thanks in advance!

Theoretically, your 600W PSU should work, but I wouldn't recommend it. I've got a 650W supply and I'm a bit anxious about pairing it with a 9060XT and 7800X3D myself! The 9060XT under full load only pulls about 182W, and the 9800X3D is around 120W, maybe a bit more if you push it with PBO, so you should be fine on paper. Just make sure your PSU is decent quality — a low-grade 600W might struggle!

If you can afford that CPU and GPU, upgrading your PSU is a smart move. A 600W supply isn’t going to cut it for stability with that combo. You'd be better off jumping to at least 850W for some future-proofing, though 700W could also work in a pinch.

Thanks! I find it a bit suspicious how low the consumption is. What do you mean by stability?
