9070 vs 5070ti: Which GPU Should I Choose for My Build?

I'm currently looking to build a high-mid range PC and trying to figure out whether I should go for the 9070 or the 5070ti. Initially, I don't plan to game at 1440p, but I want to make sure it's capable for the future. I'm leaning towards writing off the 9070xt since its price is close to the 5070ti, and the 9070 is also in consideration at $649 compared to the 5070ti at $789. I'm curious about the price-to-performance ratio of these AMD GPUs now that the 50 series is dropping in price. I'd like to factor in the benefits of DLSS and ray tracing with the 5070ti too, but the cheapest I've seen the 9070xt is around $699, going up to $749. Any thoughts?

Newegg has the 9070 listed for $550, which could sway your decision. Personally, I was aiming for the 9060xt before switching to the 5070ti, but at that lower price point, the 9070 becomes a compelling option.

It really comes down to your budget and the prices available. Both cards are pretty close in performance, but it sounds like you’re mostly interested in future-proofing your build. If the price difference isn’t too large, you might want to go with the 5070ti since it offers DLSS and ray tracing, which could enhance your gaming experience down the line.

I'd recommend the 5070ti if it's only about a $150 difference. It offers superior ray tracing capabilities, which will look better as you move to higher resolutions. The 9070 xt is definitely a solid midrange card, especially given its better pricing earlier on, but the 5070ti seems like the better choice now. Just a heads-up, there have been some rumors about the 50 series facing discontinuation soon, so keep that in mind.
