Should I Upgrade My Current PC or Build a New One?

I'm considering whether to stick with my current PC setup or start fresh with a new build. My current specs are: Windows 11 Pro, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, NVIDIA RTX3070, 32GB of RAM, and a mix of SSD and HDD storage. I'd love to hear thoughts on what I should upgrade and if starting from scratch might be a better option. Any advice would be appreciated!

I had a similar setup and opted to build a new rig while selling my old one. You'll be surprised how much you can get for your current build, which helps with the cost of a new one. I ended up going for a 9600X and a 9070 XT, and I’m really happy with the upgrade!

If you can hold off, I’d recommend waiting a bit—there’s some new tech on the horizon. Just be cautious about the pricing; if you’re hoping for a deal on new GPUs, you might have to wait a while for stock and prices to stabilize.

Waiting might turn out to be a challenge if you're looking for stuff around MSRP. Prices for the RTX 6000 series will be high for a while, and once that drops, the next round of new cards will be right behind it.

Your current build still has some juice left! Upgrading to an AM4 X3D chip could give you a nice boost, especially if you're looking to get a powerful new GPU down the line without facing major bottlenecks. A complete new build would be ideal, but you might get better value from some targeted upgrades. If you can snag a good deal on a bundle for the AM5 setup, that’d be the way to go. You can often find great prices at Micro Center and still reuse some of your components like the PSU and hard drives.
