I'm building a new PC and picked the Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 RAM at 6000 MTs CL30 because it was on sale. The Amazon listing mentions it's Expo/XMP compatible, but the box only states it's Intel XMP 3.0 compatible. I'm wondering if my RAM will work with my setup. For reference, I'm using a Gigabyte B850 Gaming WiFi 6 motherboard and a Ryzen 7800X3D CPU. I've tried to find info online, but I keep getting mixed signals. Can anyone clarify?

It should still be fine to use with EXPO, though the manufacturer might just have tested it primarily with XMP profiles. I had a similar experience with G.Skill Flare X RAM that was tuned for XMP but worked perfectly on EXPO without any issues.
Your board supports both XMP and EXPO, so your RAM should work just fine regardless of what's written on the box. Just double-check your RAM's exact part number on the manufacturer's site to confirm its specs. You're good to go!

Yeah, that's a good catch! But keep in mind that even products marked for XMP can often work well with Expo. It just might be that the company only officially tested it with Intel systems.
