I just got a new motherboard, but I noticed it only has a heat spreader on one of its three M.2 slots. I actually have three M.2 SSDs: two PCIe 3.0 and one PCIe 4.0. Should I buy two more heat spreaders, or is it okay as is? Thanks for any advice!

Yeah, I’d recommend getting more heat spreaders. I had three NVMe drives that used to run at about 50-60°C, but after adding heat spreaders, they dropped to around 40-50°C. Keeping those temperatures in check can help with performance and longevity!
Honestly, you might be fine without them. Typically, only Gen 5 drives really require good cooling. I've heard Gen 4 drives can run hot during heavy data access, but for most uses, it shouldn't be a huge issue. Just keep an eye on their temps!

That's what I saw too! I've read mixed opinions, especially about Gen 4, so I just wanted to confirm. Thanks a bunch!
