Are My CPU Temperatures Too High?

I just built my first PC with an Intel i7 9700X and a 5070Ti GPU, and I'm using a Thermalright Aqua Elite 360 V3 cooler. However, I'm noticing some surprisingly high temperatures. When I'm using Blender and Unreal Engine, my CPU temps hover around 80 degrees Celsius, and while playing Marvel Rivals, they reach about 80-85 degrees. Is this normal for my setup? My HWiInfo stats show that the CPU temp is 74 during productivity tasks and 80-85 while gaming. The CPU package power is around 75 when idle and spikes to 85-90 during gaming. If you need more details, just let me know—I can't upload screenshots at the moment.

Honestly, nothing here seems too alarming. You're still within safe limits, but if you're concerned, definitely check your fan curves and maybe amp them up a bit for gaming sessions.

I think your cooler might not be performing as expected. Are you sure it's installed properly? Make sure the pump and fans are connected, and consider revisiting your fan curves since you mentioned you changed them. They play a big role in how well your CPU stays cool.

Your temperatures are on the high side, especially for gaming. It's a little strange for productivity apps to cool the CPU better than gaming; usually, gaming puts more load on the CPU. Check your cooling setup to make sure everything is installed correctly—ensure the cooler's thermal paste is applied properly, it's secured well, and the fans are running as they should. You might want to consider tweaking your fan curves for better airflow when gaming.
