Hey everyone, I'm running into some performance issues while playing Borderlands 4. My setup includes a 3060Ti and a Ryzen 5 5700x, but I'm experiencing dips into the 40s for frame rates, which is frustrating. I'm considering an upgrade but I'm unsure if I should go through the hassle of getting all new AM5 components, or if I should just upgrade my existing CPU and GPU to the highest options for AM4. I love the game, but spending a lot of money on a whole new setup feels excessive when I could just upgrade a part or two. Any advice?

Since shooters generally rely more on the GPU, I wouldn't rush to upgrade to AM5 just yet. If budget is a concern, lowering settings can make it playable for now until they optimize the game further. It could also help to wait for Nvidia to release an updated driver.
You could also lower the graphics settings or enable upscaling to improve performance. That's usually the quickest fix to make a game more playable without hardware changes.
I’m already running on low settings and DLSS, but it still doesn’t help much, haha. Seems like I’m hitting a wall.
If I were you, I'd consider refunding the game while you can. It's likely going to take a while for all these issues to be sorted out, and it's pretty messy right now.
Honestly, I'd recommend waiting a bit. The game launched with a lot of problems, and it would be wise to see how things settle over the next month or two. This way, you can get a clearer idea of what's causing the performance issues and whether a patch helps. Rushing to upgrade right now may not be necessary, especially since many games have rough launches and typically improve over time.
Exactly! It's always the same with AAA titles—they usually have a rocky start. I'll just hang tight and see if they release some patches.
I’ve seen similar complaints about performance. It’s interesting how many games seem to launch like this nowadays!
You might want to check the usage of your CPU and GPU. Your Ryzen 5 5700x should be fine, but it could be that your 3060Ti is what's really holding you back. Considering a 4060XT or 5070 might help since you'll likely hit a GPU bottleneck. Upgrading that's a solid first step before going for a full rebuild.
Thanks! I think focusing on the GPU first makes sense since it seems to be the core issue for performance.

I appreciate the tips! Lowering settings may be the best way to go for a while.
