I'm looking to upgrade my PC components to the AM5 platform and have already purchased an X870E Aorus Elite motherboard, a new NVMe drive, and 32GB of 6000MHz RAM. I'm considering getting the Ryzen 7 9800X3D but am wondering if the price difference between that and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is justified. I'll be sticking with my current graphics card, an RTX 3060 12GB. Given that it's not the strongest card for a high-end CPU, do you think I can still achieve high FPS (around 600-700) in games like CS2, Valorant, or Fortnite?

I'd suggest saving the money and grabbing the 7800X3D instead. You'll still get plenty of FPS in CS2 and Valorant. Those games lean more on the CPU side, so it'll work out fine, even with a 3060.
Getting 600-700 FPS with a 3060 12GB is pretty much impossible unless you're running everything on low settings. If you're after solid performance, it might be better to go for the 7800X3D and save some cash. That way, you can later invest in a better GPU for a more significant boost.
Totally agree! The 7800X3D is a solid choice, and with your RTX 3060, you should still get decent FPS in CS2 and Valorant, even if the GPU might hold you back a bit.
Just get the best components you can afford! You won’t regret putting the extra money into quality gear.
Exactly what I was thinking! I have a 9700X (comparable to the 7800X3D) paired with a 5070 Ti, and I easily hit 700+ FPS in Valorant.
