I came across an ad for an ASUS motherboard bundled with a Ryzen 7 5800X and 32GB of RAM for $300. I already own an RTX 3060 12GB and I'm wondering if this setup would be compatible with it. Also, is this a good price for the hardware, considering it's used?

Yeah, that setup should work just fine with your RTX 3060! The 5800X and the RAM will definitely give you solid performance. Just keep in mind that you're getting a few older components here. It's decent for gaming, but you might find better value if you shop around a bit more.

Honestly, $300 feels a bit steep for that combo. The Ryzen 7 5800X was released about five years ago, and for that price, you could almost get a newer AM5 platform with a Ryzen 5 7600X. I'd recommend checking out some new options if you can swing it. It’s worth comparing prices before you commit!

Totally agree that $300 is on the high side for a used setup like this. You could probably find a new 5800X with a B550 motherboard and 32GB of RAM for not much more than that. I'd be careful with this purchase unless you're set on these exact parts.
