I've got a Mid 2015 iMac Retina 5K, running Big Sur 11.7.10, and I'm starting to worry that it's reaching the end of its life. It hasn't updated in a while, and I'm not eligible for newer software updates. Does this mean I have to get a new computer, or are there other options for keeping it alive?

Old Macs can actually be pretty versatile! Your 2015 model can easily run Linux, such as Ubuntu or Pop! OS, which could breathe new life into it. If budget's tight, I've seen 2020 M1s going for a great price, and they still have years of support ahead. A Mac mini with decent specs can also be a solid option!
Have you looked into OpenCore Legacy Patcher? It lets you install current macOS versions on older Macs. I’ve had success with it on my 2015 MacBook Pro, and it works great!
Yeah, a 2015 model being considered old is pretty standard nowadays. Software support for older hardware usually dwindles, but that’s just how tech progresses. You can either get a new one or think about switching to a different OS, like Linux or even Windows, since your iMac is Intel-based.
Nice! Glad to hear that. I’ll definitely check that out for my model.
