My PC Won’t Boot After RAM Upgrade and BIOS Change – Help Needed!

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my PC with some new DDR4 RAM and it was working fine for about half an hour. A friend then suggested I adjust the RAM speeds in the BIOS. After saving my changes and exiting, my PC wouldn't post anymore. I spent about an hour troubleshooting, and while I eventually got it to post again, it's now stuck in an infinite boot loop. I can't even reinstall Windows or reset my PC. I've been talking to some friends and ended up buying a new motherboard and CPU, but I'm unsure if that's really going to solve my issue. Since this is my first build, I'd appreciate any insights on what might have gone wrong and what I should do next!

If you've already reset the CMOS and it's still not posting, double-check your RAM installation. Make sure everything is seated correctly. I know it's tough, but it might be worth putting your old RAM back in to see if that resolves the issue before going for the new parts.

Could you share the full specs of your system? Also, what was the RAM you tried to upgrade to? Sounds like it might be a configuration issue. Have you tried going back to your old RAM and clearing the CMOS? It might just give you a fresh start without needing new parts just yet.

My setup is a Ryzen 5 5600X and an ASUS PRIME B550M-A motherboard. I switched from 2x8GB DDR4 3200 to Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x16GB. I've reset the CMOS a few times, and that worked to get it to post, but now I'm right back to it not posting again.

Sounds like you might just need to reset the CMOS again, especially if the new board and CPU are on the way. Usually, messing with the BIOS can cause these weird issues, and a good reset might help.
