What’s the Right Power Supply Wattage for My PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm putting together a new PC and I need some advice on the power supply. Here's my build:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
- **Motherboard**: MSI A320M-A PRO Micro ATX AM4
- **Memory**: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200
- **Storage**: Seagate BarraCuda 500 GB 7200 RPM HDD
- **Video Card**: MSI VENTUS 3X OC GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB

PC Parts Picker suggests that I might need under 400 watts, but I'm skeptical since the GPU looks quite powerful. How many watts should my PSU actually have? Thanks for your help!

You'll want to go for at least a 650 or 750 watt PSU to be safe. It's always better to have slightly more power than you think you need, just in case you decide to upgrade or add more components later on.

Thanks a lot! It's definitely confusing figuring out the wattage for a PC, so I appreciate the insight!

The size of the GPU doesn't always reflect its power consumption. While it may look hefty, your CPU and GPU are more of a mainstream type from a few generations back. A PSU of around 400 watts could technically work, but I'd recommend aiming for at least 500 watts for more headroom. A 550 or 600 watt unit would give you solid stability and flexibility for future upgrades. Check out this link for a good option: [PSU Link](https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B08G7Q7TL2?tag=pcp09-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1), and for a bit more, you could get something even better!
