Hey everyone! I'm about to embark on my very first PC building journey and would love some guidance. I've been gathering tips from friends, but I'm still not entirely sure what parts I need to get. My budget is around $550-600, but I'm hoping to find quality components without overspending. Also, I'm located in Oklahoma. Any tips, tricks, or specific part recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the PC building world! To get the best part recommendations, it’s important to know your budget and region, which you’ve nailed. A big tip: don’t skimp on the PSU (Power Supply Unit)! I learned that the hard way and it wasn’t pretty. What are your thoughts on your budget? Are you considering other essentials like a monitor or peripherals?

Thanks for the heads-up about the PSU! I’m still figuring out if my budget is realistic, but I’ve heard that building can indeed be cheaper than buying pre-built. Do you have any solid PSU recommendations?

Hey there! PCPartPicker is a fantastic tool to help you select your components. They have build guides that cater to various budgets, which can really help you start out. Just keep in mind to also budget for peripherals like a monitor and keyboard! Once you have your parts picked out, I'd recommend watching a bunch of build videos. They’ll show you how to install everything correctly and give you a better grasp of the whole process.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve seen that site mentioned a bunch. I’ve been browsing it but am still confused about what parts are good or not. Do you have a favorite YouTuber or video that covers the basics? I really mean it when I say I’m totally new to this!
