I'm considering upgrading to a 9800X3D processor and am unsure if my current Noctua NH-U14S cooler can handle it. I'm currently running it with a single fan. I've looked around for tests comparing this CPU and cooler combination but haven't found any solid info. Can anyone share if the U14S is up to the task?

Absolutely, Noctua coolers are the best! They've never let me down. You'll be good with that cooler.
Just to add, I've got a couple of D12Ls cooling 9950XEs in 4U servers running 24/7, and they handle the heat perfectly. The NH-U14S should work well, too.
Honestly, I think it's fine for your setup. Noctua coolers usually do a great job, especially with that model.
You can find useful info at the Noctua site. They have a specific page for the NH-U14S paired with the 9800X3D that gives you detailed insights. Just check it out!
Check out the Noctua Compatibility Center for the 9800X3D. It has specific entries that can help you understand how the cooler performs with that CPU. It's definitely worth a look!
I totally agree! Noctua may be pricey, but their products give you peace of mind about cooling efficiency.
