I'm considering installing a custom waterblock on my RTX 5090, but I've heard that this would void the warranty. With reports of connectors melting, I'm unsure if the benefits of better cooling are worth losing the warranty. What do you all think?

Honestly, when I had my 1080, I waited until it was out of warranty before going for a watercooling setup. If you're worried about those melting connectors, maybe it's better to keep the warranty. In the end, I'd rather have that safety net than marginally lower temperatures.
This warranty issue is interesting. Where are you located that it voids the warranty? I wonder if laws differ about modding hardware.
It really depends on your goals. If you're looking for better cooling and you're comfortable modding, then it might be worth it. But if you're not experienced and just want reliable performance, I’d take a pass. The RTX 5090 runs pretty well, especially if you undervolt it. Is there really a significant benefit, like an extra frame per second?
Exactly! Unless you're gunning for extreme performance, sticking with the stock cooler is probably just fine.
