I've been receiving a file shared to my Google Drive called 'Drive Blocked Remove_5.html' from a sketchy sender with an email that ends in '@onmicrosoft.com'. I'm concerned about malware and want to know the safest way to check this file without risking my information. Is there a way to open it securely?

This file sounds highly suspicious. If you really need to see it, running it through a virus scanning service like VirusTotal beforehand would be a safer move. At the very least, use a text editor to peek at it without launching it.
If you're really curious, you could open the file in a text editor like Notepad to check the code without executing anything. Just be cautious.
Honestly, it's best not to open it at all. It likely just contains malware and won't be worth the risk. Protect yourself and just ignore it.
Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I'm definitely going to steer clear of it.
Using a virtual machine is a solid option! Just make sure it has no shared files or clipboard with your main machine so you minimize the risk.
That's a great point! I think I'll try that instead.
