I'm running Fedora 42 on my ThinkPad with 16GB of RAM, and I'm experiencing random freezes when I'm drawing in Krita. I've updated everything and even tweaked some settings to funnel swap space to a dedicated folder, but it still happens. What could I be missing?

When you say it freezes, does it recover on its own, or does the whole system lock up and force you to do a hard shutdown? Also, I assume you're on the GNOME desktop environment? Understanding the type of freeze can help narrow down the issue.
I've had similar issues with Fedora 42. It's known that dnf/dnf5 can be problematic, and I’ve run into other glitches as well. After using Fedora for about 15 years, I'm considering switching to Linux Mint for stability. It might be worth looking into a different distro if these issues persist.
